Goddess Durga represents Shakthi, the female principle of energy, the counterpart of Shiva. She is the Goddess of valor and slayer of demons that were personifications of ego, ignorance, sloth, etc. We invoke the Mother Durga to help us annihilate within ourselves all negative forces; all weaknesses. She bestows blessings on women for a happy married life. Durga is acalled the Mother Goddess. Durga means “inaccessible”, and she is the personification of the active side of divine “Shakthi” energy of Lord Shiva. She is the ferocious protector of the righteous and the destroyer of the evil. Durga is revered for protection and enlightenment.

In Hinduism, a deity, often referred to as a god or goddess, represents a divine power or principle. Hindus have a wide range of deities, each with their own unique stories, attributes, and significance. They are revered, celebrated, and worshipped in various forms and manifestations.
Hinduism encompasses a vast pantheon with millions of deities. However, most of these are regional or local manifestations of a smaller number of major deities. The Holy Trinity or "Trimurti" of Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer) is central to many traditions within Hinduism.
Start by learning the stories, attributes, and significance associated with that deity. Engage in temple activities, attend lectures or discourses, or consult sacred scriptures. Open-minded exploration and genuine curiosity are key.
